| The issues concerned with education for sustainability supported by new technologies are covered by some journals marginally. There are no specific peer-reviewed journals that view the two in connection. International Journal of Information and Communication Technology in Education for Sustainable Development (Int. J. of ICT in ESD) established by the respective UNESCO Chair is therefore the first scholarly e-journal in the new emerging field of ICT in ESD and provides free and open access to all of its content, published twice yearly.
Int. J. of ICT in ESD emphasis is on providing a space for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to explore and document the challenges, potentialities and outcomes of ICT in ESD, using research methods from all philosophical paradigms. More specifically, Int. J. of ICT in ESD caters for:
- Research papers dealing with ICT in educational sustainability-related issues.
- Projects outlining “best examples” of integrating ICT in ESD.
- Scholarly reviews of the literature related to the use and impact of ICT in promoting ESD.
